Four constitutional law experts are called to testify during the first House Judiciary Committee hearing in the ongoing impeachment proceedings regarding President Trump. LPHS’s David Coale provides perspective on their roles. “The report we have today that came out from Mr. Schiff’s committee is largely focused on the facts – what they learned in depositions, what they learned in the very dramatic hearings that we we’ve watched on TV the last couple of weeks,” said Mr. Coale. “The Judiciary Committee, who would actually draft articles of impeachment, if it came to that, is going to be more focused on the law. The underlying legal principles, and that’s why they’re beginning with these law professors to sketch out what exactly the law requires in this situation.”
