David Coale on KLIF 570 News Regarding 2020 Presidential Election

With the changes in the current environment due to the coronavirus pandemic, could the presidential election in 2020 be postponed? The firm’s David Coale discusses the statute that allows Congress to move the November election. “If Congress could, in theory, get together, both houses of Congress, pass a law, set a new date, the president signs it. But it would have to take place by January 3 because the Constitution requires the electoral votes to be counted by January and the new president to take office by January 20th.”
