The Texas Supreme Court is preparing to hear more evidence in the challenge to Texas Gov. Greg Abbott’s mask ban in the state. LPHS appellate partner David Coale explains that the issue continues because the governor is using the state’s disaster code normally used for hurricanes and tornadoes. “Now that office has been hypercharged. It’s an unusual change in fundamental structure of the state,” Coale said. “That matters to a lot of folks in Austin. What will they do? Who knows, but they will have to give it some long hard thought.”
